What's solid right now
Fair question. Glide needs those permissions because it has to read your mouse and keyboard input on the machine you're controlling from, so it can forward it to the other machine. That is the whole feature. It only runs over your local network, with no cloud and no telemetry, and an optional pairing code encrypts the connection with AES-256-GCM so nothing else on your LAN can read the traffic either.
No, it's closed-source. We'd rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
No recurring payment, ever, for the version and updates that exist while Glide is actively developed. Pay once, keep using it.
